Course Description: This engineering class is for those who love science, math and hands-on projects! Engineering is simply the application of science and math and experience to produce an object or a process that is useful. Home schoolers especially need to begin to experience their world and ask questions of how things work and then find the answers. The basic objective of engineering is to use scientific methods and principles to produce useful devices and devices that serve all of us. We will learn by doing projects about all different areas of engineering from structural and civil, aeronautical, biomedical and more. Each week we will do an activity, experiment or make a project. We cover even more topics including money management and can you afford to leave home. We begin the year looking at the five year plan for where they might want to be. With God’s help, we look at all the aspects of their lives so far and think more about how to live independently and be thriving in the college years and beyond. This class was designed by a homeschool mom with worksheets and projects to do in class and a few at home. Twice each semester, the students will prepare an entire meal for your family.
