Course Name: Geography for Grades 6-8 Grade Range: Grades 6-8 Instructor: Evelyn Bickel Email: evelynbickel@gmail.com Price: $200 for 28 weeks Course Description: In this class students will develop independent map-reading skills and atlas usage, be able to locate any place in the world by using an atlas, and become familiar with the physical features of the world. Additionally, they will increase their understanding of geographical terms, identify continents, countries, and cities on a map, and hone critical thinking skills using maps. Weekly quizzes and short presentations will aid in memorization and research skills. At the end of the year, the students will each design and create a 3-D map of a continent. They will also compete in an end of year Geography Bee.
