Course Description: Our class will focus on the basic concepts of Art, such as composition, colors, visual perspective, patterns etc. All topics will be accompanied by demonstration and fun, creative projects. We will work with different materials and all students will gain skills in using them. My goal is to help students acquire the basic skills to express themselves using any medium and at the same time teach them to use the basic concepts of art to see the beauty of creation around us.

Books & Supplies required for purchase by families : Art supplies( 9x12 mixed media pad, drawing pencils, eraser, watercolor paints, acrylic paints, paint brushes, box for carrying art supplies). Estimate supply costs $30-$50.
Homework Requirements: Completion of the art project started in the classroom if necessary

Teacher Bio: This class is taught by Olga Dakhova. She has a degree in fine art and education from abroad. Olga worked as an assistant Iconographer for the restoration of the mural of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Charlotte, NC. She was involved in a variety of educational programs for children at the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, NC. Olga has gained experience teaching children while working and volunteering at public school and volunteering at public school and Cornerstone Charter Academy here in Greensboro. Together with her husband, they decided to homeschool their son Nikolas and they Love it!

Course Description: Our class will introduce students to the world of a foreign language.We will learn the letters of the Russian alphabet, basic words and phrases for introduction and conversation, days of the week, colors, numbers and interesting facts and traditions.
My goal is not just to teach students to speak, read and understand Russian, but also broaden their horizons and encourage them to study foreign languages.

She has a degree in fine art and extensive studies in History, Russian Language, International relations from University abroad. Olga studied English as a Second Language at Charlotte Community College and taught Russian to her coworkers, family members and Church friends. She was involved in a variety of educational programs for children at the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, and gained experience teaching children while working and volunteering at public school and Charter Academy here in Greensboro.Together with her husband, they homeschool their son Nikolas and they Love it!
