Course Name: Biblical Archaeology for Grades 9-12

Grade Range: 9-12

Course Description: In this class, students will experience the biblical lands as they discover sites, artifacts, and history first revealed in God’s Word. We'll learn the civilizations thought to be biblical myths until the sands of time and exploration revealed their existence. From the history of Israel to the powerful Egyptian pharaohs, discover these ancient peoples and cities, and the science of finding their place in history! **Important note: Students will be expected to participate in all class discussions, as well as complete homework, group projects, and any work assigned to the best of their ability.

Books & Supplies required for purchase by families: The Archaeology Book, ISBN 9780890515730 The Archaeology Book - General Science - Grade 10 - Grade 11 - Homeschool Curriculum (masterbooks.com); Unwrapping the Pharaohs, ISBN 9780890514689 Unwrapping the Pharoahs (masterbooks.com); Unveiling the Kings of Israel, ISBN 9780890516096 Unveiling the Kings of Israel (masterbooks.com); TOTAL COST ESTIMATE FOR BOOKS: $114.34 (can be purchased used; make sure to check the ISBNs). Students will also need to bring a binder, paper, and something to take notes with each week.

Homework Requirements: Approximately 2 hours per week

Duration: 28 weeks

Grading: I grade on a ten point scale (90-100=A, 80-89=B, etc)

Course Credit: 1 historical science elective credit

Teacher Bio: This class is taught by Stepheny Seabolt, who is in her 11th year of homeschooling her two youngest kids, ages 14, 16, and has just graduated her oldest in May of 2023. She has an AAS in Business Administration from GTCC, owns her own homeschool curriculum and book consignment shop, and has a passion for encouraging other parents on their homeschooling journey. Never one to back down from a challenge, she loves getting her hands dirty, going barefoot, and watching those “lightbulb” moments happen during the homeschooling day.

Course Description: If you've ever had an inkling that you don't want to work for someone else, then this class is for you! Each week we'll work through the ins and outs of topics such as creating a business plan, marketing, legal concerns, ethics, and much more, all with a concentration on keeping our business endeavors turned over to God.  Students will be expected to participate in class discussions, as well as completing homework, projects, and occasional group work. Please note that a requirement for this class will be participation in the Friendly Educators Holiday Market in December, with another opportunity required in April as well.

 Additional supplies needed include a binder, paper, and pens or pencils to write with. Any additional supplies, such as colored pencils, poster paper, etc, will be supplied by the teacher.

Course Description: What were scientists working on in 600 BC? What is heliocentrism? Why is any of this important? In this class, we'll be covering these topics plus a lot more, while keeping our main focus on the central part that God plays in science. Each week, our class will consist of a lesson, a lab, and maybe a little bit of fun along the way!

Books & Supplies required for purchase by families: Berean Builders Science In The Ancient World, ISBN 978-0-9890424-2-0 Science in the Ancient World – Berean Builders, approximate cost from publisher $43.
